The Free Fat Burner

"The Free Fat Burner" by Mario Iliev is a book I read recently. A one superb book, which by the way is free on iBooks. So I downloaded it not expecting anything good, because anybody who has ever downloaded any books from iTunes, knows that free books are mostly useless and boring. Or just short versions of real books, to introduce them shortly. However, I started reading it, and it kind of sucked me in- instead of boring sports science story, Mario has written the story about himself and how he found his way to the healthy lifestyle. And to a sixpack!
So Mario is from Bulgaria, but lives in U.S. now for years. In his book he writes about his childhood in Bulgaria and how his eating and sports habits became the way they were before he started working out every day. In the end of the day we all come from our childhood and lately I also realised that most of my food and sports habits are a lot to do with my childhood. No, not in a bad way, but it's just the way the life was in that particular time.

In the next chapters he explains how he became over his bad habits like junk food, constant partying and smoking. And then he says these things that make you think. Deeply. For exapmle that your own mindset and dicipline is your free fat burner. That is it. You don't need anything else. There is no excuses.
Also he talkes about diet pills and why they don't work. And explains why these pretty fitness people on all sort of adverts look so fit. And the truth is, that these bodies are result of years full of constant work, not 90 days like all these diet adverts usually promise.

So I found some helpful advice from this book and I will shortly bring it out here:

- You have to have a goal and a mindset to train successfully. Before going to gym you should have an idea what you want to do there and what you want to achieve.
- You should have a training plan/training diary.
- You can't burn the fat and grow muscle same time. It's physically impossible, so when you lose fat, you will also lose some muscle.(Everybody knows that hey, but it's always good to remember :) )
- You should provide your body ONLY healthy nutritions. The food you eat should be as close as possible to it's natural state.
- The more food is cooked and processed, the less quality calories are in it.
- You should not eat traditionally big meal- your body does'nt need so big amounts of food. The traditional big meal will take up tp 8 hours to digest(!!!!!).
- Breakfast sould be eaten immediately after waking up, to boost your metabolism that slows down when you sleep.
- In order to be healthy and fit you should eat- fruit, vegetables, nuts, whole grain foods, grilled or boiled meat and fish, cottage cheese, eggs, beans, wholegrain pasta and rice.

Obviously there is much more intresting information in this book but I'm not going to lay all of it out here. And also there were things I already knew when I was reading it, but it was'nt boring. I think it's more about how this book is written, easily explained useful tips and information. So eversince reading it, I've been trying to watch my eating carefully and remind myself these same things-  for example why I should not eat white bread. As Mario says in this book, that most carbs you eat are equivalent for eating pure sugar.

There are also some videos on youtube when you type in "The free fat burner". Mario shows in these videos what he eats, how he cooks and what food he buys every day. Amazing, isn't it.
